Process Manager - Based at our site in Alloa

The Opportunity

The Process Manager position will be responsible for driving performance of existing product manufactured at Dumyat through proactive monitoring of yield, downtime, and capacity. The role also plays a critical and highly visible part of validating new products on our manufacturing equipment. The validation will cover raw material right through to finished product. The holder will also need to demonstrate highly visible leadership behaviours upholding the companies values whilst also driving performance across quality. The scope also includes coaching and mentoring the team to improve their performance and delivery through a mixture of 1:1, coaching/ mentoring, goal setting, performance reviews.

This would also be a great opportunity for an accomplished Process Development Engineer, Scientist or Chemist looking to take the next step in their career.

The Role

As the Process Manager:

  • You will drive performance of the existing platform products inc identifying improvement opportunities in terms of yield, downtime and product rate
  • You will drive validation of new products on the strip manufacturing equipment at the manufacturing site
  • You will develop new products covering all aspects of the strip design and development process from raw material sourcing, through printing, assembly and product performance evaluation.
  • You will carry out product development, characterisation & optimisation, while developing test methods, driving continuous improvement and crucially identifying which aspects of the product features or quality elements influence the final device performance.
  • You will also be responsible for the team of engineers and technicians covering 24x7 shifts for all aspects of product performance (yield, throughput)
  • You will drive improvements in departmental quality performance

Required Experience

About You

We are looking for a highly self-motivated individual with exceptional process development knowledge and a high level of skills in problem solving, along with the following skills and experience:

  • Degree in a relevant engineering, chemistry or scientific discipline
  • A hands-on Engineer or Process Chemist with a high level of relevant industry experience (Medical Device, Immunoassay or similar)
  • Experienced in product characterisation / optimisation
  • Proven track record of solving production problems
  • Experience in product and process validation.
  • GMP/ GLP/ GDP experience
