Role & Responsibilities

Opportunity

Reporting to the DevOps Integration Manager and working as part of the Instrumentation team, the role will be responsible for driving the development of the Continuous Integration (CI) environment for the LumiraDx Point of Care (POC) instrument firmware, in support of ongoing product enhancement.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Design and implement build, deployment, continuous integration and configuration management systems
  • Test implemented designs and consult with peers for feedback during testing stages, assisting validation where necessary
  • Build and test automation tools for infrastructure provisioning
  • Monitor metrics and develop ways to improve
  • Provide technical guidance and educate team members and co-workers on development and operations
  • Brainstorm for new ideas and ways to improve development delivery
  • Manage CI and CD tools with team
  • Document and design various processes; update existing processes
  • Improve infrastructure development and application development
  • Act in supervisory capacity over junior team members.
  • Allocate work to junior team members.
  • Act as SME when required

Required Experience

About You:

To be successful in this role you must be a highly motivated individual that can demonstrate flexibility and a can-do attitude. You should ensure positive, productive and proactive relationships with a range of internal and external key stakeholders

Essential skills:

  • Degree qualified in software engineering or a closely related discipline OR proven track record of hands-on Continuous Integration, Infrastructure, Support or DevOps roles
  • Ability to understand the needs of a project and being able to ask good questions to fill in the gaps
  • Strong experience of working with Jenkins, Git
  • Ability to use APIs, write scripts to link tools and integrate them
  • Strong knowledge of Python and Groovy
  • Strong Linux knowledge
  • Experience with one of the following: Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform
  • Experience of mentoring others or Scrum Master certification/experience
  • Experience in building and maintaining CI Pipelines
  • A general familiarity with electronics hardware circuit boards (test targets)
  • Able to use design/debugging tools and instruments (e.g. oscilloscopes, multi-meters, logic analysers, JTAG, IAR IDE, Ethernet, RS232 and USB interfaces)

Desirable skills:

  • Experience in test automation
  • Experience of working in the medical device industry and the application of CE marking directives and applicable device standards
  • Experience in Point of Care and preferably home Medical Device Design
  • Practical experience of the product verification and validation cycle for a medical device
  • Experience of working to ISO 13485 or FDA 21CFR, part 820 (or similar)
  • Experience of using Test, Requirements and source code Management Tools
  • Experience of using task tracking tools such as Jira or equivalent
