Role & Responsibilities

HR Business Partner / Generalist

This is can be partly home based but will require some presence across our sites at Solana Beach and Nancy Ridge in San Diego, CA

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Head of HR – Americas , the successful candidate shall be responsible for the provision of HR to support across US but specifically San Diego-based leaders and employees.  You will partner with US HR team and Global COE’s to administer and implement human resources programs and policies including talent acquisition and retention, employee relations, and change management initiatives. Work closely with US based employees; serve as SME on CA labor practices

The Role

  • Optimizing and standardizing People processes and programs by proactively identifying improvements to processes and data integrity across all HR systems
  • Provide timely responses to resolve employee questions/requests and maintain documentation to develop People policies and practices further
  • Consults with employees and managers to address root causes of human resources issues, attempting to resolve employee relations issues with a systematic approach
  • Partner with HR colleagues and implement solutions; ability to collaborate and thrive in a team environment
  • Ability to be both strategic and hands-on
  • Managing programs and projects within the HR team
  • Ability to demonstrate both a programmatic and results-oriented approach
  • Helps to develops and drives company-wide programs and initiatives (e.g., compensation review, goal setting, workforce planning, and organizational change)
  • Viewed as a change agent and member of the functional area teams
  • Serve as the lead resource for employees and managers to address matters requiring in-depth knowledge of company policies and procedures while communicating and working with confidential information
  • Participate in the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and customize People actions according to employee and business needs

Required Experience

About You:

We are looking for a highly self-motivated individual with high level skills in communication along with the following experience:

  • BA/BS preferred along with demonstrated experience in employee support positions with generalist responsibilities
  • Well-versed in CA labor law and employment practices
  • Experience in employee relations
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, experience partnering with a broad set of cross-functional stakeholders at all levels
  • A demonstrated ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, dynamic, high-velocity situations
  • Ability to navigate in complexity and build new processes drawing insights from data to make decisions
  • Able to prioritize workload and work effectively to deadlines
  • PHR/SHRM certification is preferred
  • Fluency in Spanish would be advantageous
